What is it?

The National Women's Teams is an excellent event for teams of four.

The event starts at 1:00pm on Saturday.  Entry to the Whitelaw Cup is limited to the first 24 teams applying.  It is anticipated that teams will be divided into two qualifying groups, playing 5-6 board matches on Saturday.  However, this provisional arrangement is subject to alteration once actual numbers are known.  If a group contains an odd number of teams then all teams will be required to sit-out for one match in order to preserve the head-to-head format of the round-robin stage.  The top two teams in each group will contest the knock-out stages; 32-board matches on on Sunday, finishing at approximately 9:30pm (semi-finals finish at approximately 4:00pm on Sunday).

All non-qualifiers will play Swiss Teams on Saturday evening (three 8-board matches) and Sunday (five 8-board matches), finishing at about 5:15pm on Sunday.

All events are fully Green Pointed, save for the Saturday evening of the Swiss Teams (25 Local Points per win/draw, but ¼ Green per win/draw on Sunday).
